Prodigal
Grace: Luke 15:11-32
In
the Parable of the Prodigals, Jesus redefines God, sin and salvation
1.
Religious people obey God to get things but Grace people obey God to get
God
2.
We need three things:
a.
Understand the initiating love of the father
b.
Learn how to repent for sins that are both wrong and right
We don’t repent only
for the wrong but for the reasons that we did the right.
c.
Be melted and moved by what it cost to bring us home
3. Personalize and encounter
your Savior in the depth of your soul, begin to recognize the depth of
His love for you when you look at the brutal cross
John 15:4-5 (NASB)
Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear
fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you
abide in Me. "I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in
Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.
John 15:4-5 (Msg)
"Live in me. Make your home in me just as I do in you. In the
same way that a branch can't bear grapes by itself but only by being joined to
the vine, you can't bear fruit unless you are joined with me. "I am
the Vine, you are the branches. When you're joined with me and I with you, the
relation intimate and organic, the harvest is sure to be abundant.
Separated, you can't produce a thing...
Only a heart and imagination that truly abides
in the sacrificial grace of Jesus can be genuinely transformed towards long
lasting passion and service for God
