Grace According to Moses – Salvation and Calling as a Process

Salvation is accomplished through a process of victories and converted defeats over a long period of time

If we don’t understand Christian salvation as a process – we will be discouraged on the one hand and judgmental on the other hand.

1. Sometimes, our specific calling only makes sense in retrospect, in hindsight when we look back from the perspective of the present

Exodus 3:12 (Msg)
"I'll be with you," God said. "And this will be the proof that I am the one who sent you: When you have brought my people out of Egypt, you will worship God right here at this very mountain."

God often reinforces and confirms our faith and calling after we trust him, not before

Learn principles from the experience of others but don’t compare our experiences with theirs

2. Trust and serve God excellently when God takes us through detours that do not make sense, only to realize that the detours are part of the Main Road

Moses’ Detours: His wilderness experience, spiritual experience, and work experience

3. Follow Christ closely and by His grace, power, leading and guidance, serve Christ broadly and deeply, even in the midst of detours as a lifelong process

Mark 1:17
"Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will make you fishers of men."
