I WANT TO GET MADE
Communing with the Divine
Isaiah 55:6-9 (NIV)
1. How close God is to you depends on your desire to draw close to him. (v. 6)
- God can be found when we genuinely seek for him.
2. Part of your pursuit of God entails accepting his supremacy over your life. (v. 6)
- It is very difficult to commune with God when we see ourselves as masters in the relationship.
- To call on God means we must approach him as a servant with an open heart.
3. As you come near to God you must also draw away from your past life. (v. 7)
- Communing with God is all about new beginnings.
- Make the effort to shed off your old self and depend solely on your new self in Jesus Christ.
4. Because God’s thoughts and his ways are different than ours, all things are possible with God! (vv. 8-9)
- To commune with God means less figuring him out and more trusting in him.
- Live and serve in confidence that God’s ways are much higher than yours.
