Grace and Blessings II

Deuteronomy 28:1, 8, 12-13, 15, 22, 41, 54; 30:10

If you fully obey the LORD your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the LORD your God will set you high above all the nations on earth. 2 All these blessings will come upon you and accompany you if you obey the LORD your God:… The LORD will send a blessing on your barns and on everything you put your hand to. The LORD your God will bless you in the land he is giving you… The LORD will open the heavens, the storehouse of his bounty, to send rain on your land in season and to bless all the work of your hands. You will lend to many nations but will borrow from none. 13 The LORD will make you the head, not the tail. If you pay attention to the commands of the LORD your God that I give you this day and carefully follow them, you will always be at the top, never at the bottom… However, if you do not obey the LORD your God and do not carefully follow all his commands and decrees I am giving you today, all these curses will come upon you and overtake you… The LORD will strike you with wasting disease, with fever and inflammation, with scorching heat and drought, with blight and mildew, which will plague you until you perish… You will have sons and daughters but you will not keep them, because they will go into captivity… Even the most gentle and sensitive man among you will have no compassion on his own brother or the wife he loves or his surviving children… if you obey the LORD your God and keep his commands and decrees that are written in this Book of the Law and turn to the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.

Galatians 3:13-14 (NIV)

Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: "Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree." 14He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus

Galatians 3:13-14 (Msg)

Christ redeemed us from that self-defeating, cursed life by absorbing it completely into himself. Do you remember the Scripture that says, "Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree"? That is what happened when Jesus was nailed to the cross: He became a curse, and at the same time dissolved the curse. And now, because of that, the air is cleared…We are all able to receive God's life, his Spirit, in and with us by believing…

1. Jesus came and took the curse and left the blessings for us and even added more blessings to us!

Now because of Jesus, we do not obey in order to be blessed but because we are already blessed, that gives us the strength and desire to obey

Galatians 1:6-9; 5:4 (NKJV, NIV)

I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, 7 which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. 9 As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed …You who are trying to be justified by law have been alienated from Christ; you have fallen away from grace.

2. Apart from Jesus, we will never receive the fullness of God’s abundant blessings for our lives!

1 Cor. 1:30 (GW)

Jesus has become our wisdom sent from God, our righteousness, our holiness, and our ransom from sin.

1 Cor. 1:30-31 (NJKV)

But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God—and righteousness and sanctification and redemption — 31 that, as it is written, “He who glories, let him glory in the LORD.”

Genesis 22:14 (NIV)
So Abraham called that place The LORD (Yahweh jireh) Will Provide. And to this day it is said, "On the mountain of the LORD it will be provided."

Exodus 15:16 (NIV)

He said, "If you listen carefully to the voice of the LORD your God and do what is right in his eyes, if you pay attention to his commands and keep all his decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the LORD (Yahweh rapha), who heals you."

Matthew 6:33 (NIV)

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

3. If we seek after His approval, His righteousness and love that have already been given, every other blessing will be poured out as well!

Genesis 39:2 (NASB)

LORD was with Joseph, so he became a successful man.

1 Sam.18:14 (NIV)

In everything he did he (David) had great success, because the LORD was with him.

Seek and worship in the presence of the Giver, the Provider and the Blessor and He will take care of the gifts, provision and blessings in our lives!
